Recap: CAPRI Developer Seminar |  17-18 March 2026, Berlin, Germany

The CAPRI Developer Seminar 2026 took place in Berlin on 17–18 March, bringing together members of the CAPRI consortium from a range of European institutions, including the European Commission, the OECD and the Joint Research Centre (JRC). The event provided a focused technical and policy-relevant forum for exchange on recent developments related to the CAPRI modelling system and its ongoing evolution within the broader context of agricultural policy analysis in Europe.

Participants reviewed latest model developments, discussed ongoing collaborative activities across workstreams, and exchanged views on recent policy developments relevant to model applications. The seminar served as an important coordination point for maintaining consistency between technical enhancements and policy-oriented use cases, ensuring continued alignment with evolving analytical needs in the agri-food domain.

As part of the ACT4CAP27 project Work Package 4 activities, the migration from SVN to Git was presented and discussed in detail. Following presentation and exchange, the new Git-based workflow was approved by participants, marking a key step in the modernisation of the CAPRI development infrastructure and strengthening collaborative software development practices across contributing institutions.

Rupesh Singh (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, IIASA) presented progress on the ACT4CAP27 portal being developed under Tasks 4.1 and 4.2. The discussion also addressed the planned integration of CAPRI within the ACT4CAP27 portal, with emphasis on improving accessibility, coherence of outputs, and support for future dissemination and analytical use.

The seminar reinforced the importance of coordinated technical development and institutional collaboration within the CAPRI community, supporting the continued relevance of the modelling framework for European policy analysis.
