ACT4CAP27 WP Leads Meet to Review Progress and Plan Next Steps

On 20 May 2025, the ACT4CAP27 work package leaders came together for their regular coordination meeting to take stock of project activities, review progress across work packages, and plan upcoming outputs and events. The meeting began on a somber note, with participants commemorating the sudden passing of colleague Luca Salvatici (UniRoma3), whose contributions to the project and the wider research community will be greatly missed.

The team then reflected on the successful Stakeholder Consultation Meeting held on 6 May, which brought together over 60 participants. While feedback was largely positive, including praise for the organization and use of interactive tools such as the Miro-board, participants noted limited time for discussion and called for more interactive dialogue. The importance of involving key stakeholders in future events was highlighted. A full report of the meeting will be finalized by Ecorys, and dates for a follow-up in-person stakeholder meeting in autumn 2025 are under consideration.

Updates were shared on the Fast Track Scenarios, which were finalized during a WP6 meeting on 12 May. These scenarios will be shared with DG AGRI, with modelling results expected in early 2026.

WP highlights:

  • WP1 submitted to the EC its first deliverable outlining the conceptual framework for food system sustainability and identifying analytical gaps.
  • WP2 is advancing model development with new collaborations, notably around data visualization and mapping.
  • WP3 teams are continuing their technical work, with a joint WP3 meeting scheduled for October.
  • WP4 is preparing Deliverable D4.1, the foundation for the online model and data portal. A draft will soon be shared for partner feedback.
  • WP5 is actively involved in capacity building, with CAPRI and AGMEMOD trainings underway. Training materials are being documented, and the Young Researcher Network (AMYRN) call for applications is now open.
  • WP6 focuses on scenario development and planning for policy assessments post-2027.
  • WP7 reported the completion of partner and SPAB profiles on the website. The next BrightSpace-Act4CAP27 newsletter will be released soon.
  • WP8 is preparing the consortium for the first interim technical report, due after August 2025.

The next WP leads meeting is scheduled for 17 June 2025.
