The ACT4CAP27 project hosted a hybrid workshop on modelling the future of EU-Ukraine relations on 18 September 2024 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), Poland. Organized by the Thünen Institute of Market Analysis (Germany), Wageningen Economic Research (Netherlands), and Polissia National University (Ukraine), this workshop was a side event to the 189th EAAE Seminar, titled “EU Enlargement by (Post)-War Ukraine: Implications for the Agri-Food Markets.”
The workshop, held in the frame of ACT4CAP27’s WP6 activities (Tasks 6.1 and 6.2), focused on assessing EU agri-food policies post-2027 with a specific emphasis on the EU-Ukraine relationship. Over the course of three hours, more than 30 participants openly discussed the current and future state of this relationship and explored possible scenarios for modelling agricultural markets.

Stakeholders and experts shared their views on the future of EU-Ukraine relations, highlighting key topics for the agricultural sector. Valuable outcome of the discussions were the uncertainty regarding Ukraine’s future war development, population change, land area and demining. The event also facilitated rich exchanges and networking opportunities.
Martin Banse, Director of the Thünen Institute of Market Analysis, opened the event on behalf of the organizers.
