Register: ACT4CAP27 Stakeholder Workshop│22 April 2026, online

We are pleased to invite stakeholders to register for the upcoming ACT4CAP27 Sugar Tax & Biodiversity Scenarios Workshop, taking place online on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET.

This interactive online workshop will bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the EU agri-food sector to explore how modelling can help bridge research and policy, supporting evidence-based agricultural decision-making beyond 2027.

The session will begin with a short plenary introduction, followed by two parallel breakout discussions focused on key policy-relevant scenarios:

  • Sugar Tax Scenario
This session will examine sugar substitution possibilities, consumption responses, and the potential implications for EU sugar beet production. Participants will engage with modelling results and contribute their expertise to assess the realism and feasibility of substitution pathways across different product categories.
  • Biodiversity Scenario
This session will explore trade-offs between enhancing biodiversity-related positive externalities and potential reductions in agricultural production. Discussions will focus on stakeholder perspectives regarding short- and long-term impacts, as well as the acceptability of these trade-offs under different compensation mechanisms.

Participants will be invited to join one of the two breakout sessions based on their expertise and interests.

Both sessions are designed to foster exchange between modelling experts and stakeholders, ensuring that scenario assumptions and outputs reflect practical realities across the agri-food value chain.
