CAPRI GitLab Training – 10 June 2025

The GitLab training session for CAPRI, held online on 10 June 2025, successfully brought together model developers and analysts from across the CAPRI community. Co-organized by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Thünen Institute, and supported by ACT4CAP27, the event focused on improving collaboration and workflow practices in CAPRI model development.

💡 Highlights of the session:

  • Comprehensive GitLab skills: Participants learned repository setup, branching strategies, merge request workflows, issue tracking, and use of CI/CD pipelines tailored to CAPRI development.
  • Interactive, use-case-based learning: The session included live demos using CAPRI repositories, enabling attendees to apply GitLab features in real-world modelling scenarios.
  • Active engagement: Participants raised practical questions and shared experiences, resulting in a collaborative atmosphere that fostered peer learning and workflow improvement.

This training supports ACT4CAP27’s broader goal of enhancing analytical capacity within the EU agri‑food policy modelling community. By improving GitLab workflows, the session contributes to more transparent, structured, and reproducible CAPRI development.

🔜 Next steps:

  • Participants have been invited to join a shared GitLab group to access example workflows and continued support.
  • Further sessions and tutorials are planned to deepen collaborative model maintenance and code-sharing among CAPRI users and developers.
