ACT4CAP27 Project Spotlighted at “GREEN & DIGITAL POLISSIA: AGRICULTURE” Forum

The forum “GREEN & DIGITAL POLISSIA: AGRICULTURE” took place on January 16 2025 at the newly inaugurated European Digital Innovation Hub “POLIDIH” at Polissia National University. This marked the second significant event hosted by POLIDIH since its opening last month, reaffirming its role as a dynamic center for digital advancement in agriculture.

The forum gathered farmers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, offering a platform to explore digital opportunities and sustainable agribusiness solutions. The Rector of Polissia National University, Oleh Skydan, opened the event, introducing the mission and potential of the POLIDIH hub to foster digital transformation and collaboration.

The forum featured a series of insightful sessions, including:

  • Digital Solutions for Sustainable Agribusiness by Maya Kovalchuk, Acting Head of the Department of Computer Technologies and Systems Modelling, showcasing innovative platforms and mobile applications.
  • Modern GIS Services for Farmers presented by Oleksandr Rozhkov, Deputy Head of the Educational and Scientific Center for Space and Geoinformation Technologies, detailing free service packages like vegetation index trends, soil geographic profiles, and climatic assessments.
  • Drone Technology in Agriculture by Mykola Kravchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Soil Science and Agriculture, covering drone classifications, management methods, and applications in farming.
  • As part of the session on international collaboration Olga Nykolyuk, Head of the Educational and Research Center for Digital Technologies and Systems Modelling at Polissia National University presented the ACT4CAP27 project. Her presentation underscored the project’s role in enhancing policy-making through advanced analytical tools and capacity-building initiatives aimed at supporting the evolution of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy beyond 2027.
  • Furthermore, Tetiana Fedoniuk presented the Horizon Europe Program Cluster 6 AGROSUS project, focusing on agroecological strategies for sustainable weed management.

In addition to academic and research insights, industry partners from ITM Industry Group shared their experiences with automation projects in agriculture, while ArtAgro showcased a diverse range of corn, sunflower, and sugar beet hybrid seeds.
