Possessio was representing the ACT4CAP27 consortium at the Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Productivity to Address Food Systems Challenges: Measurement, Data, Drivers and Policies organised on 28 October 2024 in Paris by the OECD’s Trade and Agriculture Directorate, in collaboration with the European Commission’s Directorate-General on Agriculture and Rural Development and the United States Department of Agriculture.
The conference brought together policy makers and researchers to discuss the concept and measurement of sustainable agricultural productivity. It aimed to bridge the gap between academic and policy communities and translate and orient research efforts to pragmatic and policy relevant ways to measure agricultural performance for achieving sustainable productivity growth to address food systems challenges. The exchange among experts and policy makers focussed on the current and evolving state of sustainable agricultural productivity performance and the state of the art on measurement and data, as well as on the main challenges to reconcile productivity and sustainability, focusing particularly on the environmental aspects of sustainability.
ACT4CAP27 project communications task leader, Katalin Balázs invited participant to the event, emphasized how ACT4CAP’s interdisciplinary analytical framework can grasp all dimensions of sustainable agricultural productivity, and will provide robust, data-driven insights to aid policymakers in crafting well-informed, effective agri-food policies for the post-2027 landscape in the EU. The creation of sustainable food systems is crucial for the long-term resilience and prosperity of the EU agricultural sector.
We would like to also thank here the organisers for the invitation and for this great opportunity to expose our project to a wide array of policy makers and professionals working in this area across the world.
