We are pleased to announce the publication of ACT4CAP27 Key Exploitable Result (KER) 01 – An operational food systems framework for analysing sustainable outcomes and indicator data on both the European Commission’s EU Funding & Tenders Portal and on our project website.
KER-01 establishes an operational framework for analysing how policy interventions interact with food system drivers, activities and outcomes across environmental, economic and social dimensions. It connects food system dynamics with relevant sustainability outcomes, indicator domains and data requirements, providing a structured basis for integrated policy impact assessment.
Designed to support evidence-based assessment of agricultural and food system policies, the framework is particularly relevant to the Common Agricultural Policy, including CAP post-2027, and to relevant European Green Deal objectives and strategies. It helps identify the indicators and data needed to assess policy impacts, as well as potential trade-offs and synergies across sustainability dimensions.
Publishing KER-01 on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal increases the visibility and accessibility of this key project result for EU and Member State policymakers, international organisations, research and technology organisations, universities, and agricultural modelling communities. At the same time, the dedicated KER page on the ACT4CAP27 website provides additional background on the framework, explains its policy relevance and practical applications, and offers direct access to supporting publications and resources.
As the operational food systems framework developed within ACT4CAP27, KER-01 underpins the project’s subsequent work to strengthen analytical tools for policy evaluation. It provides a transparent basis for considering environmental, economic and social outcomes simultaneously, helping to guide the further development of modelling approaches and indicators for assessing future agricultural and food system policies.
We invite policymakers, researchers and all stakeholders interested in CAP post-2027 and the future of the EU food system to explore KER-01 and discover how the framework can support integrated sustainability assessment and informed policy development.
