CAPRI Model Applied Data Analysis Hybrid Course, 16 April – 9 July 2026

We are pleased to announce the launch of this year’s Applied Data Analysis: Introduction to and Application of the Partial Equilibrium Model CAPRI in Market and Policy Analysis, now underway as a full-semester course within the Agricultural Economics Master’s programme at Humboldt University of Berlin.

Running from 16 April to 9 July, the course takes place every Thursday from 12:15 to 16:00 (CET) in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and remote participation.

The course is organised by the Thünen Institute, with contributions and support from members of the CAPRI consortium. It is also open to external participants, offering a valuable opportunity for researchers, analysts, and policy professionals interested in agricultural market modelling.

Participants will engage with three core components:

  • An introduction to the GAMS modelling language
  • A general overview of the CAPRI: Common Agricultural Policy Regionalised Impact Modelling System
  • Hands-on exercises, including applied analysis and in-depth exploration of selected model components

This course provides a practical and structured pathway to understanding how the CAPRI model is used in market and policy analysis, making it particularly relevant for those working in agricultural economics and evidence-based policymaking.
