We are pleased to announce that two ACT4CAP27 partners — the Wageningen Socio-Economic Research Institute (WSER) and Roma Tre University (UNIROMA3) — have been granted access to EUROSTAT microdata to support the project’s analytical work.
EUROSTAT, the statistical office of the European Union, provides high-quality data that underpin evidence-based policymaking across the EU. The approved proposal gives our research partners access to a comprehensive micro-datasets, covering the period from 2010 to the present, encompassing anonymized household records from nearly all EU Member States. These data include essential indicators on income, expenditure, food consumption, and employment, allowing detailed exploration of socio-economic and consumption trends at the micro-level.
Access to EUROSTAT’s confidential microdata is only granted to accredited research institutions following a rigorous evaluation process. This approval represents an important achievement for the ACT4CAP27 consortium, enabling our team to deepen the analysis of the distributional and regional implications of agricultural and climate policy transitions within the EU.
Within ACT4CAP27, these data will play a key role in advancing the work of WP2, WP3 and WP7, where assessing socio-economic dynamics, equity dimensions, and policy outcomes is essential to understanding pathways toward a climate-neutral and resilient European agriculture & food system.
This is an important step to forward the work in ACT4CAP27. We thank EUROSTAT for their trust and recognition of our project’s contribution to advancing robust, evidence-based insights that will support future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) transitions.
Keep up with our updates on how WSER and UNIROMA3 begin to explore this valuable data source and translate findings into actionable knowledge for policymakers and stakeholders across Europe.
